This comes as no surprise to me. I used to think I was good at multi-tasking, but the more I did, the more frustrated I became, and lost focus easily. Switching to basically single-tasking has been an improvement, especially in quality.
Guess it took a study to prove it. (Probably funded with tax money….)
Still, it’s an interesting read. What I found fascinating was it was done on college students. I had always thought my loss of ability to multi-task was age related, but this shows even younger folks face it. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t diminish with age also, I suppose.
I would think further on the subject, but that’s another task. I’ll do that after I post this.

Well….. this has been a bust of a Super Bowl. I kinda like both teams. As an NFC fan, I like the Bears. And you gotta love a coach named Lovie. And I’d love to see Manning get a ring. Hate for him to be another Marino. And Tony Dungy is just an outstanding Christian gentleman. So I’ll be happy either way with the winner.
Yet the game itself is kinda boring. Chicago is not playing well, but the Colts aren’t lighting it up either.
And the commercials? Boooooring for the most part.
Still- we had good food, and a good time watching the game.
So with 5:00 minutes left, it looks like a Colts win, nothing much to remember about the commercials….. and I need a Rolaids.

Imagine my surprise, as I walked through Barnes and Noble, to suddenly find out that I was named Time’s Person of the Year.
To be honest, I was not even aware I was up for the award. I am flattered of course.
But I must say- it’s about time I got a little recognition. To have it come from such a prestigious source such as Time is only fitting, I suppose, given the years that I’ve languished in relative obscurity. I knew I was someone, I was just puzzled as to why so few recognized it.
And double was my surprise to be told that, lo and behold, I control the Information Age. Wow. Expect changes. I’m not sure the specifics yet, as I am working on the plan, but it will involve some monkeys and linked sausage and a few episodes of The Three Stooges and maybe some small plastic parts. Oh, and that whole MySpace thing? Say goodbye to it…. if I’d have known I was in control I’d have done the world a favor and gotten rid of it looooong ago.
So if you need to contact me for appearances, autograph signings, movie parts or perhaps guest hosting Hollywood Squares, just email me. Don’t be surprised if it takes me a while to respond- I’m sure my Inbox will be quite full, what with this turn of events. After all, this is a very prestigious award. I’m quite sure Elvis and John Wayne and maybe Homer Simpson received this award, too. Which puts me in great company.
But don’t worry, I won’t forget all the little people. I won’t. I promise.
Now go make me some coffee. And answer that phone!
Ah….. is that my limo pulling up….?

I like many of the new things that technology has provided. The Internet is one. Sure it has it’s dark alleys and bad parts of town, but it has really opened up communication and learning. And it’s how I make a living. And while I worry that gaming consoles are killing kids imagination, balanced use is just part of the fun. GPS is cool. All of the iPod type devices are neat.
Coffee makers with automatic timers that grind their own beans are indispensable.
Still, sometimes you’ve got to wonder if some technology advances are pushing things to a ridiculous point. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, I guess in the blog world I have made reached a milestone.
Go to Google, type in legal gangs, and hit I’m feeling lucky.
Yep, as of this moment right now- it’ll take you right back here to my little old blog.
The link goes to a previous post I did, which, oddly enough, covers the subject of legal gangs.
I’m sure it won’t last long, but hey- it’s kinda cool.

I read a story on the ABC News website. Seems a woman was on a flight to Dallas, and, having passed gas, lit a match to cover the smell. Of course, passengers smelled the burning sulphur (at a minimum) and the flight was diverted to Nashville to investigate.
After unloading the plane and doing a thorough search, the FBI was able to determine the full story.
The woman was not charged, but she was also not allowed back on the plane. I’m sure she was supremely embarrassed.
But she need not worry….
This, too, shall pass.

I cracked open an egg this morning to fry it up….. and waddaya know- twins!
This is not something you see every day. In fact, I’ve never seen it. Don’t even recall wondering “Hey, is this possible?” My wife said she’s seen it once.
I wonder what would’ve happened to this egg if it had not ended up on my breakfast plate? Would it have developed into two chicks?
I decided to name them, to commemorate such a momentum* event. The one on the left is “Tasty”, and the one on the right is “Yummy”.
Here’s to Tasty and Yummy!
(*I know that isn’t the right word….. it’s an ode to Jerry Clower…. it is totally not funny if I have to explain it.)
