I finished up the 72nd scale Hasegawa F-20 Tigershark, and I can testify without reservation that this is a “must build” kit. It fits great, is simple to build, and is reasonably enough detailed to please just about every modeler. The cockpit may be a bit sparse for those with AMS, but even in that case, it provides a great palette for additional work.
As the F-20 never went into production, it offers the possibility for a great variety of “what if” builds. I chose to go the route of a Republic of China (ROC… also known as Taiwan) build. The decals are from a Taiwanese company called Bestfong. (Company motto: “When a Regularfong won’t do, pick Bestfong!”)
OK, I totally made that up.
Anyway…
The decals performed well, but a few were tricky to use. I really thought the dragon logo on the tail was cool. However, it consisted of five overlays, so by the time it was all finished, it was a bit thick. Still, I thought it looked pretty neat.
If you’re looking for a nice, simple, fun build- consider this kit. It fits the bill!
