Academy’s 1/48 Spitfire Mk. XIVc: Finished Up And Ready To Go

Academy’s 1/48 Spitfire Mk. XIVc is finished up and in the books, so to speak. This one was a commission model build.

The Academy kit does have some shape issues, but for my tastes, they’re not so egregious to make the kit worthless by any stretch. When built up, no one mistakes it for anything other than a Griffon-engined Spitfire.

And it is an enjoyable build. Good fit, decent detailing, and little drama characterize the building of this kit.

While I do hope someone like Airfix or Eduard will eventually come out with a Mk. XIV that really does the subject justice, I am quite happy to build these in the meantime.
