I’d been planning this recon Falke for years. The PRU Blue just seemed like it would be a great color to go on the airframe. I’ve been thinking about this for so long that I can recall discussing it with my dear friend Andy Butcher, who sadly passed away on March 28th, 2022. I’d talk about my PRU Falke, he’d talk about his ideas for an A-Wing fighter painted like Ralph McQuarrie’s concept art for that design. And of course we talked about many other things.

In fact, the last conversation I had with him, on March 27th, 2022, was about that A-Wing Fighter. He’d posted something about it on Facebook, and we bounced ideas around as we always liked to. I don’t recall what my last comment or question was, but because he was several hours ahead of me (Andy lived in Sweden at the time) he did not answer right away.

In fact, he never replied. And that’s when I knew something was wrong.

I was planning to write a thorough wrap up of this model. But then I thought about Andy, and how he encouraged me to build a PRU blue Falke, painted like my favorite airplane, the Spitfire.

So I’ll just wrap it up this way.

Look Andy… I finished the blue Falke. I miss you buddy.
